JAMES SCHUSTER
Personal Trainer & Studio Manager
After leaving college, I wasn’t entirely sure what career path I wanted to pursue. Having spent years competing in track and field, I returned to coach high school athletes and quickly realized how much I enjoyed helping people grow and progress through movement. That experience shaped my professional philosophy: every individual needs a unique approach, both in programming and in motivation. I focus on active listening, meeting people where they are, and living by the belief that “people don’t care how much you know unless they know how much you care.”
Throughout my career, I’ve worked in nearly every facet of fitness – personal training, small group training, group exercise, and fitness management. My clients have included high school and collegiate athletes, working professionals, new parents, and individuals recovering from knee or hip replacements, back pain, and other injuries. More recently, I’ve had the opportunity to work with golfers on performance and mobility.
I’ve worked with several established organizations, including Personal Training Institute, Boston Sports Club, and Orangetheory Fitness. Across every environment, my goal remains the same: to help clients of all fitness levels achieve meaningful, sustainable results through evidence-based training and individualized support.
While my foundation is in running and athletics, my approach has evolved to incorporate multiple training styles, focusing on building strength, improving mobility, and supporting long-term functional performance and well being. Ultimately, my goal is to help people build confidence in their abilities, move better, and live stronger, both inside and outside the gym.
