PHIL GERARD

Personal Trainer

I know firsthand how overwhelming fitness can feel.

In 2020 I was overweight, inconsistent, and stuck in the cycle of wanting to improve my health without knowing where to start. I had a gym membership, but no real direction or discipline. Everything changed when I made the decision to get sober. Sobriety became the catalyst for my fitness journey, and fitness became proof that small, consistent actions can completely change the course of your life.

What started with a 5K eventually led to marathons, strength training, and a lifelong passion for helping others discover what they’re capable of.

Today, my coaching philosophy is simple: fitness doesn’t need to be complicated. There is more information available than ever before, yet many people feel more confused than ever. My job is to cut through the noise, simplify the process, and help you build sustainable habits that create real results.

My training style blends athletic and functional training to help clients move better, get stronger, improve their fitness, and feel more confident in everyday life. Whether you’re stepping into a gym for the first time, returning after years away, training for a specific goal, or simply looking to feel better, I can help you get where you want to go.

Clients often tell me they appreciate my ability to make fitness approachable and enjoyable. I believe your trainer should be more friend than foreman. Fitness is intimidating enough your coaching experience shouldn’t be.

For me, fitness is about more than appearance. It’s about freedom, energy, and structure. It’s about having the confidence and capability to fully show up for the people and experiences that matter most.

When I’m not coaching, you’ll find me running, playing hockey, golfing, cooking, or shepherding my son around New England for hockey.

No matter where you’re starting, the first step is the same: begin.
